September 7, 2018 — Jeff Bablinski, County Administrator, recently began his work here in Houston County. He grew up in North Dakota. He joined the Air Force and was assigned to transportation and logistics. He was moved to a variety of bases throughout his career including Kuwait, Turkey and Norway. His goal here in Houston County is to make things more efficient. He will organize, restructure, streamline and create processes.
His family consists of five children. The oldest is married and lives in Jamestown, ND. A son is in college in England, and the others are enrolled in school in Caledonia.
September 14, 2018 — Tom Danielson, past president, led a discussion about our club’s financial obligations for members. Rotary Works Foundation, RI Foundation and Polio Plus were explained. Pledge forms were distributed to members.
September 21, 2018 — Nate Livingston, Principal of St Johns Lutheran School in Caledonia talked about himself, St John’s school and the challenges in education. He came from North Dakota, is father to 4 children. He is principal and teaches 7-8th grades. He’s been here for five years. Challenges in education today include behavioral health, breakdown in families. He was proud of the good relationship among all three schools in Caledonia.
September 28, 2018 — James Merrick, Assistant toe the Clerk/Administrator in Caledonia, spoke about his responsibilities. He is working with EDA and assisting in zoning issues. He is a Navy veteran. Paving of Kingston Street is scheduled to begin October 15 with a final layer added next year. The “Hauser Building” will be torn down before the end of the year. He likes the variety of things he can work on here in his job.
