President-elect, Tom Danielson, led discussion about budget, goals and plans for the 2017-18 club year.
June 16 Joe Welch gave his classification talk. He buys and sells used industrial equipment in the US and foreign countries.
Christian Myrah, owner of RockFilter Distillery, Spring Grove, updated the club on his business. Grains used in making bourbon are certified organic. He uses limestone filtered water to make the bourbon. It’s aged in white oak barrels made of staves from Staggemeyer Stave Mill, Caledonia. The grains are ground at Scheck’s Mill.
June 30 Rocky Danielson and Karen Schroeder of the Sew Blessed Quilters group spoke about the group’s project of sewing quilts for veterans. They made 12-15 for World War II vets two years ago, and made 46 for Korean War era vets which they distributed this year. Twenty quilters are involved at this time. They will begin making quilts for Vietnam War vets.
