January 4, 2019 –Sofia Telaak is from Germany and is working at Hendel Farms for 5 months with the “COEP” program (University of Minnesota). She has a bachelor’s degree in agriculture. She took this break before going back to school for her master’s degree. She grew up on a dairy farm. She said dairy farms are growing in size in Germany as they are in the US. The agricultural economy is poor in Germany too.
January 11, 2019 — Dane Lamb talked about a marketing business he has started in Caledonia. He and his family moved to Caledonia from Michigan in 2002. He in La Crosse with property accounting software. In the fall of 2017, the company was sold and jobs cut. He decided to use his skills and experience to start his marketing business, Kick Marketing, LLC. He works with small businesses to improve their current marketing program. He has over 25 years of managing and hands-on work in virtually all aspects of marketing. He begins with a meet-and-greet consultation to help identify gaps and opportunities.
